Here is the scenario, here We are its October already and We havent gotten to the first League Meet yet.
But there is possible of 4 Meets to go to in just 1 month alone in November! NOVEMBER!? And yet, there is 2 different meets in one day!  2 Invitational and 2 League Meets.  Halloween, 1 Keystone, South Eastern,  and Thanksgiving.   Hmm?? To much think or choose from.

Now as a Coach ( NOT Me of Course) but for an example; how would you do to get your Team to go?

The halloween meet is an invitational, the end of October, Eastern's first league meet is oct 8, mostly the eastern Region will attend. Others are invited.

The Thanksgiving meet another invitational, over Thanksgiving.

The SE Regions first league meet is in December. started for the SE Region but of course others are invited.

Now as a coach i would attend my Regions league, if feasible.

The Halloween meet is a good meet so we will be taking our skaters there also.

The Thanksgiving meet is in the SE Region and we like to support our meets, so we'll go there also.

The coaches have a few meet to pick and choose from.

Leagues meets are good for the skaters, skating meets with you beginners and upcoming skaters are important. Having your better skaters at these league meets give the newer skater some one to look up to. Each Region should have leagues meets for their skaters.

Invitationals are to test your skaters skill against other skaters around the Country. So which ever Invitational you pick to attend is great for your skaters. There are a lot of Invitationals around which have a larger attendence than the League meets, making the competition better.

I think it is nice and special that we have all these meets. I must say the same thing with Mary is that the #1 priority is to support your league meets and if possible Invitationals in the league then out of the league.

I think then if I had a chance at placement and had the money then I would go to regionals and nationals.

I think though as more of my kids get involved it is going to make it harder to attend more events.

This was a very good subject to post Michele. I think Coach Foster started this on myspace and is a very HOT topic now.
